Q: What is the difference between IP56 and NEMA 4X?
IP56 provides dust‑tight protection and resistance to high‑pressure water jets. NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance for indoor/outdoor use. This unit meets both standards.
Q: Can the unit operate in ambient temperatures above 55°C?
Yes. The unit maintains operation up to 60°C with a 12% capacity derating. Above 55°C, the compressor speed is limited to protect the motor winding insulation.
Q: What communication protocols are supported?
The unit ships with Modbus RTU (RS‑485) by default. BACnet MSTP is available as a field‑selectable option via DIP switches on the controller board.
Q: How often should the condenser coil be cleaned?
In normal outdoor conditions, inspect the coil every 6 months. Use compressed air (from inside outward) or a soft brush. For coastal areas, increase frequency to 3 months.
Q: Is a crankcase heater included for low‑temperature starts?
Yes. A 40W crankcase heater is factory‑installed and energizes when the ambient temperature drops below 5°C. It preheats the compressor oil for reliable startup.
Q: Can I mount the unit on a wall or pedestal?
The cabinet includes pre‑drilled flanges for wall mounting (M12 bolts) and a pedestal base option (part no. PED‑1050). Both methods comply with seismic zone 4 requirements.
